Before everyone saw the black Formula Student racing car, the ceremony began with speeches by representatives of the University authorities and the City of Bia\u0142ystok.<\/p>\n
\u2013 As the University authorities, we are very proud of the students. I know how much toil, effort and sacrifice it has cost them. One could say that the students have achieved a miracle \u2013 at a low cost they have built a vehicle that can compete with large teams financed by Mercedes, BMW and Audi. (\u2026) Thanks to their work on this car, the students have acquired knowledge, skills and competences that will definitely help them in their future careers. This is a team of valued specialists who will definitely find employment \u2013 argued the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Jaros\u0142aw Szusta, DSc, PhD, Eng.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The students\u2019 work was also recognised by Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, who emphasised the vehicle\u2019s special qualities in a behind-the-scenes discussion.<\/p>\n
\u2013 I am impressed by another creation of the student research club Cerber Motorsport, which embodies advanced technical solutions and at the same time is in line with trends. The car is therefore lighter, uses less energy and incorporates solutions to achieve even better results on the track \u2013 said the Rector of Bialystok University of Technology.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Another highlight of the event was the presentation of the car, where the audience could meet the team.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Working on the eighth car was quite a challenge. More than five months spent on design and nearly four months spent on execution resulted in the preparation of a new and improved car design. This would not have been possible without our team \u2013 31 students sharing a common passion and dedicating their time. We had one goal in mind \u2013 to create a one-of-a-kind car \u2013 argued Micha\u0142 Gleba, coordinator of the Cerber Motorsport Team.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
The new car is not only a spectacular effect of the design and construction work of students from Cerber Motorsport, but also a great way to promote the University\u2019s brand, which supports students\u2019 passions by giving them space to learn about and implement advanced technological solutions. The work of students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering will represent our University during prestigious competitions in Europe.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Six departments worked on the car: Aerodynamics, Engine and Drive, Electronics, Superstructure, Suspension and Marketing. Together we built the CMS-08 car and together we qualified for 5 competition series. We will participate in: Formula SAE Italy, Formula Student Czech Republic, Formula Student Austria, Formula Student EAST, Formula Student Germany. For the first time in the team\u2019s history, we will go to two of the most prestigious series \u2013 FS Germany and FS Austria \u2013 said Patryk Siekaniec, one of the coordinators of the Cerber Motorsport Team during the presentation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
In the 2022 season, the team of students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology will compete in five series of competitions. It is worth noting that the City of Bialystok supports students\u2019 trips to competitions outside Poland:<\/p>\n

How does the new car differ from previous versions? What innovations have been incorporated?<\/p>\n
\u2013 We would like to draw your attention to the most important elements that have changed, starting with a thorough redesign of the cooling system, which resulted in a reduction in the weight of the entire system while maintaining its efficiency. A prototype of an electronically controlled throttle of our own design was built for the necessary testing and research. In the electronics department, a completely new module was used, combining the display with a data acquisition system, allowing the driver to control selected parameters of the car\u2019s operation and save the data for later analysis \u2013 said Micha\u0142 Gleba.<\/p>\n
\u2013 For the first time, a safety rim was laminated into the superstructure, reducing the weight of the entire monocoque. The entire aerodynamic package of the CMS-08 car underwent decisive changes to meet the main objectives set: maintaining aerodynamic balance while increasing the generated lifting force and better control of the airflow in the wheel areas. New airfoils in the rear wing helped to improve its performance in terms of generated downforce. In cooperation with the electronics department, a drag reduction system (DRS) was also applied to the rear wing \u2013 Patryk Siekaniec added.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Many improvements and innovative solutions have also been introduced, such as an active cooling system for the engine area, an engine cover to reduce drag, a floor extended with new air intakes and a splitter \u2013 the front part of the floor \u2013 said Micha\u0142 Gleba in a summary of the presentation.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
After the presentation of the team and a brief overview of the car, the final moment came when the CMS-08 car was unveiled. The constructors invited the public to discussion, and the media were given time for taking photos.<\/p>\n

\u2013 proprietary camshafts,<\/p>\n
\u2013 modified engine block, which enabled the use of an improved engine sump,<\/p>\n

The Cerber Motorsport team<\/strong>, operating within the Student Auto-Moto-Club at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology. The organisation was established in November 2011 by 17 students, passionate about cars. Over the years, more than 200 people have worked on eight generations of CMS cars. Today, the team consists of 31 people and is divided into 6 sub-teams: Aerodynamics, Electronics, Suspension, Engine and Propulsion, Superstructure, Marketing. The main objective of the Student Club is to win the top position in the prestigious international Formula Student competitions. They are held annually in more than 15 countries, with more than 800 teams, which is almost 31,000 members. Students design and build a car that competes against teams from all over the world. Winning the competition is not only determined by the speed of the car, construction, financial and sales planning are equally important. The competition is divided into static and more spectacular dynamic competitions. Judges are mainly constructors closely associated with the automotive industry.<\/em><\/p>\n
As the first Polish team, Cerber Motorsport podiumed at the Formula SAE Italy competition in 2016. This competition also brought second places in the competitions: Acceleration, Endurance and Skidpad. The following years also saw a series of successes. One of the most important goals of the Student Club is to create an ever better car and to introduce innovative solutions to improve its performance, which translates into winning places. Combining theory with practice, and at the same time having fun and competing are synonymous with the Cerber Motorsport Team.<\/em><\/p>\n
