Department of Biomechatronics

The Department of Biomechatronics has been operating since December 29, 2021 and was established as part of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering. Currently, the Department employs 10 people: 3 independent research workers, 5 assistant professors,  2 assistants.

The Department of Biomechatronics conducts research focusing on the following areas:

• designing medical devices, especially for orthopedics and orthopedic supplies;
• processing of biomedical signals and medical images;
• telemetry and telemedicine in studies of muscle contractile activity;
• biosensors;
• computer-aided treatment processes;
• 3D print in medicine;
• acquiring and exploring knowledge from medical databases and protection of medical data.

As part of their educational activities, the employees of the Department conduct classes in the field of biocybernetics, medical diagnostic signals, neuroinformatics, computer analysis of medical images, engineering of medical devices and others. In addition, they conduct classes at postgraduate and doctoral studies, as well as for Erasmus + students.
