Department of Machine Design and Exploitation was established in 2005 as a result of combination of: Department of Fundamentals of Machine Design and the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Currently, 14 people works at the Department: 6 associate professors, 6 assistant professors and 2 technical employees

Scientific and research topics of the Department of Machine Design and Exploitation:

1. Agricultural vehicles pneumatic braking systems experimental research and modeling
2. Vehicles braking systems empirical and theoretical tests
3. Alternative energy sources
4. Internal combustion engines classic and alternative supply systems
5. Technological processes and construction nodes friction issues
6. Heterogeneous materials and welded connections fatigue and fracture strength
7. Research on tribological, thermal and mechanical properties of composite materials (traditional and hybrid)
8. Piezoelectric transducers analytical modeling
